Bright Horizons – Field Trip Fail
So, the summer is still at a slow start with the Bright Horizons summer camp program. As I write, I should be on the 2nd field trip with Aidan at Great Explorations. But, on the way this morning, I picked up my voice mail from last night and heard that it was cancelled. Apparently, the bus is not working properly and can’t be fixed in time. I admit, that is a very reasonable explanation that I can’t argue with, but it still doesn’t make up for the serious inconvenience. I had Luke take a vacation day today and watch Skye so I could go with Aidan. I didn’t want him traveling all the way over to St. Pete by himself, especially after the last field trip. Because we didn’t get the message on time, my fault for having the phone in the car, I took Aidan to school in his Bright Horizons shirt and without any lunch or naptime supplies. I figured we would be going home after the field trip. But, whatever… Friday is pizza day anyway so he’s not going to starve. I did get to pickup Starbucks on the way, so life isn’t too bad!
I’ve agreed to give Aidan one of his LEGO kits early, so he’s really excited about a Summer Fun Friday of LEGO building and DS time. He’s mostly excited about his big birthday party tomorrow!
The field trip is rescheduled for next Tuesday, and my parents are going to be able to watch Skye. Never a dull moment…
–UPDATE–
I surprised Aidan with some cupcakes after lunch today since I had to pick him up early due to lack of nap time materials. The kids all sang happy birthday, and it was really nice. But, I also got to pickup the newsletter project that they had completed during the first “session” of camp, which was called My Very Own Teacher. As a memory, I’ll have a final copy of The Viewpoint that has Aidan’s name spelled incorrectly as a reporter. How nice!
